Peri-menopause

Are you going through peri-menopause?

Research shows that peri-menopause lasts 8 to 10 years and typically begins in a woman’s 40s, though it can start as early as the mid 30s or as late as the mid 50s.

A good clue for when you might start is the age at which your mother experienced menopause, as genetics play a role.

Menopause is defined as not having a period for one year, but peri-menopause doesn't always start when your periods become irregular. Many symptoms can show up before your hormone levels change.

Common symptoms include:

⚡️Headaches & brain fog

⚡️Hot flushes

⚡️Difficulty sleeping

⚡️Reduced libido

Other less talked about symptoms can include:

⚡️Excessive emotions such as anger, irritation or low mood

⚡️Vaginal dryness

⚡️Pain during intercourse

⚡️Pelvic floor problems

Everyone experiences peri-menopause differently, and peri-menopause can affect your daily life, including work and relationships.

There’s no need to suffer in silence. Seek help early. If you feel different during your cycles, talking to a pelvic health physio and a menopause specialist can significantly improve your symptoms.
